Away from home, I realize the treasures I have left behind.
Homesick

By: Tracey Criswell Wilson

I've been gone for so long,
My heart's homesick.
I look over this strange land
Seeing the beauty it beholds.

My senses are assaulted,
Odd sights, sounds, and
Glorious smells, abound.
In my heart I long for home,
Familiar smells, and friendly smiles.

To see my family once again,
My tears will freely flow.
My memories race back
To shady meadows,
Seashore sunsets,
And fire red horizons.

Within my mind, I return home
To all I took for granted.
