The One I Love: A Neuvain Romantique*

My dear, little friend, oh, how I do love him

With his cute, button nose and one outstretched limb.

I think I adore him because he always listens.

I just can’t imagine a night without Ted.

For I’d scream if I woke, and he wasn’t in bed.

His cute, little eyes are brown-eyed with glisten,

And he hugs me whenever I need him the most.

He's faithful and loving, though I try not to boast.

But my adorable love is the teddy I christened.

This is an illustration for a poem about a strange being who soothes.
