Shame, once recognized, can be seen as a source of empowerment!
Shame
(04/23/2004)

Shame is...
leftover dirtiness.
On me.

Shame on me
for not being perfect. Shame on me
for having imperfections. Shame on me
for condemning myself for having imperfections. Shame on me
for shaming myself for condeming myself for having imperfections.

Shame, SHIFT!

I can see where this is going... Shame, SHIFT!

I am incredibly human -- errors made for evolution -- mine!

Shame shift,
Miss Typo... I am
only magic marker-marked,
DARKENED
but my fire's sparked! I'm not defined
by dirt or grime. This guilt is
just a waste of time.
Committed to a better best, I'll grow from this
and I suggest that it will fade...

So take your shame and make it shade,
then make it spade and dig your dirt --
but don't get hurt! It's just another tool we humans GET to use
when we so choose.
