About a boy
Life is a river,
Sometimes flowing fast and hard,
Sometimes trickling away into nothingness.
In that river, I am a twig,
I get pushed around, bumped against rocks.
But one day, someone came along,
They shielded me; they took the bruises for me.
Because you saved me, in every way.
You saved my sanity,
You saved my body,
You saved me, it’s your fault I love you now.
I sit and I wonder, why did you do it?
Because you saved me, and trapped me, at the same time.
I am trapped by your words, they fill my head.
I am trapped by my love, it fills my heart.
But I thank you, because to be trapped by you,
Is all I’ve ever wanted.
