A fun poem about being a freshmen in highschool.
Freshman Beat Down Day

A scream echoes down the hall,
The pounding of footsteps fall,
A freshman comes running past,
Followed by the senior class,

I give a start and glance about,
As I hear a freshman shout,
In the hall I silently pray,
That I may survive this day,

With mounting dread I sneak around,
To skirt away from the sounds,
Of garbage lids slammed and rolled aside,
With freshmen victims inside,

Of lockers slammed with kids inside,
Of freshmen tossed and cast aside,
Oh, what horrors would come next?
The seniors and their evil hex,

Girls scream as books are strewn,
And noisily thrown across the room,
The seniors laugh and dance about,
To hear the freshmen shout,

I turn around to escape this day,
And then to my horror and dismay,
A group of seniors are walking past,
A ghastly smile in the mass,

They gathered ‘round me, closing in,
Like wolves that find a prey to pen,
They grabbed my arms, and with much laughter,
They threw me in a small blue locker,

Their voices faded to look for more prey,
As I'm thankful that I’m ok,
Freshmen gather, shaken and distraught,
Of the ordeal the seniors wrought,

I walk away and I think,
When I’m a senior, King of the Rink,
I think I may,
Join in freshman beat down day.
