"He gazed on thy soul, it was spotless and fair." The Feast of The Assumption.
The White Vestment
Cloth of snow, like Mary's soul,
Untouched, untainted, bright and new,
Crown with cipher placed below,
Star and Sea of truest blue.
Garment fit for Mary's feast,
Worn with honour as we sing
To celebrate her rise to Heaven,
Crowned, enthroned, beside her King.
O, that our souls could be as this!
Spotless robe of purest white,
Virgin beauty manifest,
Unblemished, worthy in His sight.
