Fear of raising a child.
My buddy, Fear's, a dear old friend of mine,
for he and I have danced a waltz or two.
I gaze upon my son and there I find
that he has brought Fear back to me anew.
This darling angel cannot lose my love
though days of "no" and future teenage lust
will surely test and give patience a shove.
and maybe cause my temper to combust.
I'm sure that other daddies feel the same
And also work to keep the clouds away.
Some moments seem just like a picture frame,
But life goes on; he grows more day by day.
Please tell me someday fear itself will go.
Old feet can only dance so long, you know?
