An old man craves for judgment of God, defying yet the judgment of man
JUDGMENT

Why should I be ashamed that
I’m all alone today?
Why should I be surprised that
Others about me say

That I’m not a jolly chap,
I’m serious, morose;
That I hardly ever smile,
On me ill fits a rose?

I am tired and worn out now,
Life was a burden great.
Yet I must walk on and on
Till I reach heaven’s gate.

I can rest when I reach there,
When my journey will end.
As I kiss the feet of Lord,
On Him will fate depend.

Why I be not judged by Him?
Why be judged by mortals?
They misjudged His son and sent
Him back to His portals!

Lord give me strength and wisdom,
That I fear none but You.
I be Your humble servant,
As bid by You, I do.

Lord You know I served You well,
And answered every call.
I sang your praise all the time,
Though sometimes I did fall.

You are my master, O Lord!
Punish me for my sin.
But my Lord, save me from man,
Who did turn Your son in!
