Poem about a little boy struck by the grief of a lost loved 1
Little Johnny

The sun went down
The clouds shifted to grey
And little Johnny knew
That today was the day

Never again would he hear her voice
Or hear her sweet voice sing
Because for little Johnny’s mummy
Heaven was now calling

Se had always been there for him
To take him out and play
The thing Johnny didn’t understand
Was why did God have to take her away?

There were millions of mums in the world
And many that were bad
So why did his mum have to go
And leave a grieving son so sad

Johnny stepped into the room
And he saw her lying there
Her face was all black and broken
And there was no more beautiful hair

He held back his tears
For he didn’t want God to notice
The pain and anguish he had caused
And the things he had made him miss

She would never see him ride his first bike
Or play his first football game
Or see him all grown up
And proudly shout his name

She was his only mum
And he her only son
And no one could replace her
Never, ever, no one.
