About loving someone you know you cant have
You’ll never be mine

I still remember that autumn day
When my eyes first set upon you
I froze when our eyes locked
What else could I do?

Your eyes glowed up like gems
Your hair shined like the sun
And I wanted more than anything
For you to be the one

A thousand and one thoughts
Were whizzing through my brain
And you became my light
Whenever it began to rain

Of course I knew it well
And it cut me to the core
That if I ever dared approach you
You’d only shut the door

There were factors of life
That could only drive us apart
The one thing that damaged most
The unwillingness to speak the heart

I’ve tried not liking you
In hope it be a cure
But all it ever leads to
Is me liking you even more

If there is any scrap of a chance
Then won’t you give me a sign
Because the thought that forever crushes me
Is to know you’ll never be mine
