The perfect home tethered with horses.
A HOUSE IN EAGLEBY
November 18, 2004

We found a house in Eagleby;
-- a place to make our home;
the one to end our journey
whenever we choose to roam.

The ‘Mount Morgan’ of Brisbane,
this suburb may well be,
but in my heart it warms me
to be in Eagleby,

for every other field
holds a horse beside its fence,
and each that's not a pasture
is full of trees and shrubs so dense

that it seems to be a forest;
one huge nature trail
this rich green place called Eagleby
in foliage from hill to dale.

The homes are cute and pretty,
and though the name is queer,
the tidy pristine landscape
in my heart rests quaint and dear.

Yes, we found a house in Eagleby
-- a place to make our home;
the one to end our journey
whenever we choose to roam.
