Meant to be set to music - anyone want to?
Day of Destruction

The face of the moon is covered in scum,
The children won't play, their hearts have gone numb,
The grown-ups just drink, they can't make a crumb.
This is the day of destruction.

The sky has gone green, the sea has turned black.
And much though we beg, the sun won't come back.
Our minds are derailed, can't keep them on track.
This is the day of destruction.

It's the day of destruction,
Let the nonsense rule.
It's the day of destruction,
As we follow a fool.

It's the day of destruction,
Let our bright stars die.
It's the day of destruction,
Why does no one ask why?

The hypocrites moan, they can't win the fight.
They quote the good book, but swear in the night.
They watched the light fade, they chided what's right.
This is the day of destruction.

And others, they kill, not seeing the crime.
Their hands reek of filth, they revel in grime.
Though centuries pass, they still can't tell time.
This is the day of destruction.

It's the day of destruction,
Close your eyes and grin.
It's the day of destruction,
Feel the madness set in.

It's the day of destruction,
Play your godly game.
It's the day destruction,
Feel your soul melt with shame.

It's the day of destruction,
Destruction,
Destruction,
Destruction,
It's over.
