Visiting Frazier Ranch

I went out to visit at the ranch today,
And oh, it was beautiful, as always.
I was greeted with a hug and a smile,
We sat in the living room and talked awhile.

The leaves on the avocado trees were green,
And in the distance the river I could see,
The hummingbird feeders were all empty,
The sweet little birds, where could they be?

I missed my friend Lilly, she died last year,
But my friend Elton I still hold dear.
Like a daughter I have been to them,
My little Grandmother’s dear old friends

The ranch has been like my second home
Since my Grandmother left me alone.
But I know that this lifestyle someday will end
When I lose Elton, my dear old friend.

So I will visit as often as I can
And save memories of these dear friends.
I went out to the ranch today,
It’s a bit of my life slowly slipping away.
