Written for contest, title is prompt.
I think it's just too much to ask right now.
You cannot break my heart and get a hug.
Your cheating ways have wrecked our wedding vow
And spat upon the years we've wove this rug.

The pattern that we've made throughout the years
Has changed because of your malicious act.
I can not see it now through all the tears
And nothing you can do will bring it back.

You stand there with wet eyes and hate yourself
And ask for me to hold you while you cry.
But since you put our love up on a shelf
I can not comfort you, I'd rather die.

It is too bad your act has brought us here.
A hug can't happen when I do not care.
