Musings about youth in the evening of life.
SOLACE

O, ghosts of my younger days,
Don’t haunt me forever.
In my old age too will you
Let me be free never?

Yes, I was a bit wayward,
A little indulgent.
It is true that my youth was
Rather wild, turbulent.

But I have suffered for this,
I live like a recluse.
I am forsaken by friends,
For them I am no use.

Ghosts of haunting memories,
How long will you so cling?
Set me free and if you please,
To me solace do bring.
