I wish I could remember why I called you ungooey
in that e-mail I sent you last August,
but I figure it's probably got something to do
with the night we got lost in the park.
You took me to a place away from the trail
where we could watch the sunset in the creek's reflection.
I took a picture that night, of only the upside down rippling trees,
but everything else stands out in my mind
like my own personal still-frame summer.
I was scared when we realized how lost we were,
but you stayed brave.
I thought we'd be stuck there forever,
but now that fear seems so silly because
I'd give the world to be lost with you again.
