Deception....weaving that tangled web...
Duplicity

You were the hardest one to fool,
you knew me inside out,
knew my innermost thoughts, hopes, desires.
It took some planning,
twisting and deceiving,
a lifetime of lowered eyes..
An age of turmoil
battles raging, old versus new,
centuries old conundrum,
would peace ever reign?
Raw pain.
A rebirth.
An awakening, a dawning,
the gold in the river of blackness.
Understanding settles
why even try...
I can't lie anymore,
I know myself too well,
for how can you fool yourself?
