His Rainbow Tattoo

The radio preacher shouted,
"Friends, you must strike
while the iron is hot."
So I hit him.
Full on. In the chest.

The heat burned right through that
damn NO FAT CHICKS t-shirt
he always wore.

The wound took six months to heal.
It turned so many colors,
looked like a rainbow tattoo.

He never hit me again,
after that.

I mailed twenty bucks,
to the radio preacher.
