A short poem reflecting heart ache.
The sun shines brightly
Bringing smiles to many
Blue sky, white clouds
Everyone is blissful
Yet I die inside

It’s springtime now
Love is in the air
Couples gather, hand in hand
People kiss and hug
Yet my joy will not rise

I see you, the love of my life
With one that’s not me
Secret glances spared in class
Kisses stolen at every chance
Seeing this fills me with bile

We were close, one in the same
Reading each other’s thoughts
Sharing our candy and toys
Playing together, having fun
I miss you, and at night I cry

I am all alone
My soul feels empty
Deprived of the warmth of the sun
My friends are none the wiser
Unable to see through my guise

The sun shines brightly
With blue skies, white clouds
Kids play, adults smile
Couples happy, deeply in love
Yet, I die inside
Again and again
I die inside
