Anorexia - What do you see in your mirror?
Mirror, mirror on the wall
who is the fattest of us all?

I’m not perfect and I know that I can’t be
But why, when I look in the Mirror, is this what I see?
I see two stout legs,
Mountain size thighs
And huge dimpled hips that are far too wide.
I see an over - flowing stomach
With rolls of bulging flab,
A mass of growling skin
That I know is made of fat.
I see the plumpness of my arms.
I see the way it wobbles as I move.
And I know somehow,
that this is what I must lose.

Mummy said I was looking ‘rather round today’,
I know I’m like a ball.
I mean, it’s not like I need to be told.
I can look at myself in the mirror
And all I see is this,
A hideous blobby monster
Obese on what she eats.
A creature from a nightmare,
A grotesque chubby freak.
People say I’m crazy,
They say that I’m too thin.
But how can they say that
when it’s the mirror I’m looking in?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall
Who is the fattest of us all?
‘You are, my dear. You are’
