When I didn't sleep for 3 days in a row, i wrote..
Oblivious to the world around
Lit up from iridescent stars,
Cast out by tenebrous shadows,
Walking lines of solitude.
Crafted with deceit and misappropriation
His pace staggering and perishing with each step.

His step’s resonance streaming now,
Filling the inaudible silences caused by the wind’s gentle murmur,
The same setting on another inconsolable night,
One more moment in a abject life, trivial year, and frivolous week.
Waiting, wishing for so much more..

Those misappropriated raps on the swirling sidewalk,
Doubled in tone and pace,
His subsequent canter dwindling to nothingness.
The raps on the ground quickened as someone
Or rather something drew closer.
With hands trembling and heart pounding the boy looked up.
Nothing filled the air as the steps stopped.

The light that flourished on the spinning, lined path under him
Flickered and dimmed, the stars were fading away.
His weighted stare towards the sky discovered nothing,
Clouds flowed in and covered his source of reassurance
Those unrelenting stars, dimmed through the heavy sky.

Who the hell needs reassurance,
He questioned while the skies began leaking
Digging his paws into his jeans, he began once again
On his streaming pathway,
His steps stimulated the other raps on the ground.

This time he didn’t seem to notice and continued
He reached the crossroads of a metropolis and a ghost town
Partly wishing for twinkling lights,
feeling much heavier he chose his way,
Fur dripping drops of rain, tears, and blood.

Watching the end draw near, he stopped again
Looked up at the skies and fell to his knees,
The thud against the ground halted the approaching steps that had followed.
He had spent so many sleepless nights imagining this moment.

A pool surrounded his body
Shivering could be seen in his deceitful shadow,
While his body was rigid and his emotion was stern.
The shadow took a few more steps as the man raised his paws
This journey into himself made him evolve.

His focus on light flashing above him grew,
Between drops and steps he screamed
Why…
Why Him…
Why Then…
The pursuing shadow finally spoke.

You know why,
You know why it was you.
You know why it was then.

He turned to see nothing,
There was no shadow,
Just him, the rain beating down
The lightning casting more shadows around him.
Carrying more steps and voices

His patience was wearing thin,
Like his grip on his knife,
He began to remember the beginning,
And how he had dreamed of the end.

With that he finished what he had started before,
His subconscious wasn’t open anymore and he was completely lucid.
That consummate lucidity, was finally found.

He took both paws and firmly ended the steps
The voices
The shadows
The stars
And the rain.

At least for himself,
The rain continued to beat down on his stained fur,
And the shadows still surrounded him
But the stars didn’t shine anymore.
They never did after that night.
