Simple poem I wrote as a kid. Delves into the mind of a vampire.
The taste of your blood: tantalizing,
Filling my mouth with sweetness.
I feel my soul energizing,
My body reformed in completeness.

Hiding from day,
This hunger makes me what I am.
With each night I stray,
To satisfy yearning for blood of man.

With screams of strife,
You humans fear and cower.
Your essence of life,
Provides my body with power.

It is my precious treasure,
Of immortality and strength.
A luxury and pleasure,
In knowing life has no length.

It is my sorrowful curse,
Forsaken and condemned.
My life has dispersed,
Denied to walk among living again.

Your blood is my plight,
It is the price I pay.
Demon of the night,
You humans I must slay.

Seeking and feeding,
Always out stalking prey,
Sucking on humans bleeding,
I flee at the coming of day.

You humans are nothing compared to death’s scope,
With the full extent of my wrath,
You humans just pray and hope,
For I am destined to walk Satan’s path.
