Midnight: Chicago Western Suburbs. (A cool breeze blows through the black sky.) (Orange road lamps light the emptyness of the highway) ( "Nighshift" by the Commodores plays in a tollbooth) (Lina, 23, bi-racial, independant. Her mom is Scicilian, her dad is Black.) Lina(perched on a stool, smoking): How the Hell did I get here? I never thought I'd end up handing out dimes from a tollbooth for a living. (A Semi roars in to her lane, stopping at the booth. The driver looks her up and down and sloshes tobacco spit out his window.) (Lina glares, smoking.) Lina (breaking the third wall): Jesus. I must be out of my mind working here.
