Memories of shattered dreams.
LAKESIDE DREAMS: a sonnet

This very place is the one where I walked
With you, hand in hand, tender thoughts in heart.
On this very bench by the lake we stopped
And you had kissed me and our love did start.

Can I forget that turbulent moment
Which now truly is a part of my life?
My heart had then willingly itself lent
To dreams of being one day your sweet wife.

Those dreams were never destined to be true.
Never that love was meant to touch your heart.
Truly I was destined to that day rue,
Now knowing that you played a scheming part.

Those dreams are gone and my life is shattered.
Happy you are as if nothing mattered.
