[Trying to hold back love that is slipping away.]
SLIPPING LOVE: a sonnet

Although I hold you tight against my breast,
I know your heart is no longer with me.
The days are gone when you could not arrest
Your racing heart when me you used to see.

I know you are slipping away from me.
I know that now I cannot hold you back.
I know now from me you want to be free.
I know our bond has now suffered a crack.

But what I don’t know is the reason why
Now you have dumped both me and my friendship.
Why did you want to give my love a try
When well you knew that one day you would slip?

Despite all this I don’t want to lose you.
May such feeling god put in your heart too.
