Andromache reflects on the past, present and future
Andromache's Dilemma

Six months at sea, since that terrible night,
when the streets of Troy rang to the clash of steel,
and the gutters ran red with the blood of innocents.
Already my recollections, once sharp and vivid,
begin to dim, even though I try hard not to forget.
Once I was married to a man admired by everyone.
Hector protected me and brought order to my life.
Now he’s gone and I’m slave to my enemies.
Once I had a baby, taken by my new master
and thrown cruelly, from atop the city wall.
Soon he’ll take me and there’s nothing I can do
To prevent it...Or is there?
