A Blackeyed Peas Feast
On
New Year's
Day we ate
blackeyed peas for
good luck. Uncle Joe
said that he could increase
his good luck by consuming
more peas on New Year’s Day, so he
stole Cora’s blackeyed peas casserole,
which she made with habaneros this year.
In his man cave, Uncle Joe watched a game
and consumed the entire casserole.
When Cora went to check on him
she found him doubled over
and unable to speak
a coherent word.
He was lucky,
he lived to
tell the
tale.
