A poem on Pentecost day. Written for the Lighthouse poetry contest.
On the day of Pentecost,
gathered together in the upper room,
were disciples, Jesus' brethren
and His mother along with other women too.

They prayed together,
holding on to the promise,
Supplications made for
The Comforter to come.

One accord,
One place,
Everyone
Prayed.

Then He
came,
Our Comforter,
Our Guide.

On this day, today,
scattered everywhere
around the world,
are men, women and children too.

Somewhere one prays,
Holding on to the promise.
Supplications made for
His second coming.

Discord,
No place,
Only one
Praying.

Still He
will come,
Our Prince,
Our King.
