We realise our mistakes when it is too late.
BROKEN SAILS: A sonnet

At one time I used to admire you so,
When I met you once in the path of life.
In this soft path I allowed weeds to grow,
Rendering it full of much stress and strife.

I lost my calm and equanimity.
I blamed you alone for all the travails.
I forgot that it is winds’ enmity
That rips apart the strongest of ship sails.

One day the ship floundered in raging storms.
I found that I had lost all that I had.
The fault was mine, I’d broken all the norms.
This fact made me truly all the more sad.

It’s better that we regret in youth prime
Than too late in the ordained march of time.
