I watched every step I made

"You're welcome here" She said,
as she showed me to my bed.
She gave me an extra pillow,
And a blanket with flowers of yellow.
She showed me around her house
And bought me a new blouse.
I watched every step I made,
Because I was afraid.
But she said, "don't fright,
We don't bite."
Still uncertain,
I hid behind the curtain.
I shed a few tears,
For I had way too many fears.
One day I cried
And she sat by my side.
I said how I felt I should be dead,
And she said, "darling, lift up your sweet head.
You're here
Until we can find the cure."
"The cure for what?" I asked.
"Your feelings are too masked"
She said with her arm around me,
"I know you have more feelings than a tree,
You need to let things out.
Is there anything you would care to talk about?"
I let out a sigh
And asked her why
But then I thought
About how I felt so caught.
I told her everything
Even if it meant nothing.
She didn't act surprised, or hurt.
She just sat there, and gave me support.
I no longer cried.
Oh, how I never felt such pride!
Before I knew it, it was time to leave,
So I put on my long sleeve.
I saw my parents with smiles on their faces
As I tied my laces.
With a hug, she said I was always welcome there,
And I knew she really did care.
