kitten with sense of adventure, humor, fun: writers cramp contest 1/24/14
EDITED
My kitten was stirring all through the house
No one could sleep not even my pet mouse
Stockings hung paws grabbed them and flung
Then climbed the chimney and meow she sung

Jump to the chandelier sway and swing
Oh kitten please don't do this dangerous thing
To catch her I knew she's too fast puff like smoke
oh my what broke her antics no funny kitten joke

Christmas tree she climbed swiftly and held firm
Ornaments breaking tree shaking twas' my concern
glitter of tinsel candlelight catches her discerning eye
don't knock over the candle kitten I shouted and cried

kitty changed her mind to my joy and excited glee
This was short-lived kitten where in the house could you be
noises in the kitchen there I flew what I wondered did she do
what she did brake oh my brew could I catch her she's not through

chasing this creature all this long night it will soon be bright daylight
my house her playground not my delight Will I ever win this fight
dining room table elegant and set these things toys is kitten tired yet
through laundry room door I ran upset she must be sleeping I surely bet

I search and I search no kitten found I should hurry and check the city pound
no noise on chaos is she around maybe she's at the lost and found
despair and sadness engulf me she's bad yet I love her I'll give all I have
startled gives a scratch she's almost had now have a need for some healing salve

kitten not feeling or acting like lead even though she's been watered and feed
before sleep shadows me in my bed is she in danger I seriously wonder and dread
through all the house I've looked to see if I can find her I want her with me
exhaustion gives fitful rest unto me my kitten sleeping by me a surprise gladly I see
