Poem about consumption.
Before breakfast,
I trapped yams
in a Dutch pie,
and the crust became apartheid.

At lunchtime,
I drank English tea
with curry,
and I saw Gandhi in the salt shaker.

For dinner,
I mixed Spanish rice
and Mexican corn,
and I tasted the rape of Tenochtitlan in my mouth.

Tonight when I go
to get a glass of water,
I'll stir in engine grease
and drink the American Dream.
