Lost my best friend six years ago today.
You're weighing heavy on my heart.
After all these years,
These wounds are still fresh.
I'm strung out,
Wandering through dreams,
Craving to hear that sweet, comforting voice that still echos in my mind,
"Lighten up, buttercup."
Every time I close my eyes,
I see that smile of yours.
That coy, half smile that you always tried to hide behind your melancholy.
I see that tiny glimmer of hope in your eyes,
And I wish and beg and plead for you to be here physically.
"Lighten up, buttercup."
Sitting here trying to get all of these feelings out,
I know you're still here.
I still get that feeling I used to get when you were around.
I'm so sorry I blamed you.
I'm so sorry I never got a chance to tell you how much our friendship meant to me.
I'm just plain sorry.
See you on the flip side, Boo.
