A take on this brief period in history
(blinking of eyelids
takes miraculously enough
less than one second)

Painted masks discussed
colored mouths, creaky
tradition paid at a cost.
Frost via the ankle
became eternal torpor
We yawned plethorically
made-up stories, however
no excuse later on
we were young
had to learn on occasion
live, forget aging
drown with regret
including reflections.
It turned out fairy tales, ah
especially at the end
we got tired.
For starters
we stayed without money
non-the-wiser
left God, Marx, and Freud us
subtly with Einstein
and damn, that one died too
like fain free of charge
we shared with each other.
