Poem for Write from the Heart
Line Count 27

I'd give anything to
have you with me.
The touch of your skin.
Your lips against mine.
Holding you while we
dance is what I miss
most of all.

It's hard to believe you're gone.
Hard to believe you're
not coming back.
The tears and heartache
on not seeing you again
is too much to bear.

Why did you leave me?
Why did this happen?
What am I to do now?
The tears begin again,
Emptiness is all I feel

Pain of a broken heart.
Swallowing hard
in a dry throat.
Pushing down the
memories of our time.

Finally the nightmare
phone call.
I hear the voice say
"His last words were
'tell my family I love them.'"
