Homeless in the streets
" Slipstreams "

Slipstreams of sunbeams through a green palm frond.
Ice creams and sweet dreams, visions of beyond.

Cold chills and iron wills, homeless life gets old.
Out of pills, no thrills, everything is sold.

Eyes see a soft breeze, memories to go.
Next night they all freeze, figures in the snow.

Dark Knights, street fights, wish you were never born.
Sound bites and street lights, scarecrows in the corn.

Cold feet and dark streets, shadows falling in on me.
No home and no phone, nowhere I need to be.

Alley cats and black bats, rain pouring in a storm.
No place for brown rats, the dead no longer warm.

Waves in the bright sun roll so casually.
Bad man with a gun, coming after me.

There's no fun anymore as I sit with my desire.
I can't run and hide no more for I've began to tire.
