Even after they're gone, they can be there with us
What can be gained in loss
may not be measured today,
when I breathe
the air feels heavy,
weighted and brought low,
a burden carried by many
comfort given to few,
how long to grieve
when to carry on,
struggling for memories
to keep them alive,
a strife in our minds
time always wins,
and days sometimes heal,
a smile, a gesture,
someone speaks their name,
suddenly they are there
with us
Immortal
