My entry about a birthday
Birth Day Surprise

In mid-summer back in 1959.
Ready to give birth anytime.

Dropped off at the hospital's door.
She waddled to the maternity floor.

Suddenly her cry alerted everyone near.
Clearly, her baby was ready to appear.

Rushing to her in a whirl of flurry.
Nurses understood their need to hurry.

In those days medicine was differently made.
No way of knowing the sex of the unborn babe.

Finally in the delivery room with no time to spare.
The baby was coming now and didn't care where.

Finally, the doctor expecting to see the babe's head.
oh no! there are feet coming out first instead.

The birth finally over the healthy baby girl sighs.
Then suddenly the room fills with the mother's loud cries.

Just as they thought the commotion was through.
Out of the mother pops a foot.- Oh, my there are two!

Coming out, feet first just like the other..
Within 5 minutes the first little girl had a sister!
