A vampire who lives with honor why battling his need for blood Based in white wolf world
Not Again.

It had come again, it had been one hundred forty-nine years since memorial day was declared a holiday, after the end of the civil war. And with each year that past his anger for this day grew. Laython in life had served in the 1st Massachusetts Regiment. A member of the continental army During the revolutionary war. Mortals had such a limited view of time. It wasn't he didn't feel for others that had died in the wars this country he had for in that he had bleed for to create. And sure their was independents day. It just to him seemed like no one cared anymore about his sacrifice or the sacrifice of his friends and family. Like the ungrateful people of this nation would not care even for many that served in even recent wars. Wars he saw as what they were, pieces on a chest board being manipulated by Elder Vampires on all sides of the underworld.

Yes, people would BBQ and drink and have fun camping but they , well at lest most would not give much thought to those who had fallen. he doubted a flag would be planted in the false grave his family had made for him. Weather that was true or not did not matter to him, what mattered was his anger.

He came up the stairs from his basement. Moved to the living room and turned on a light, then the TV to CNN.

“...Once again a 7.6 earthquake was registered off the coast of California triggering a 35 foot tsunami pulverizing the shore line of San Diego. Rescue Efforts are on going...”

He sat in his chair hearing the news for the first time. He watched the footage that was captured as the wave came in. The Damage looked horrible. Many were dead and injured.

“Well, hell.” Lathon sighed and watched the TV.

“A state of emergency has been declared. However in a show of solidarity to the American way of life all over the nation Memorial Day festivity had not been stopped. Candles were being lite in memory of the losses that had happened today.

He turned off the television “Of course they are just like good little sheep.” He said out load to no one. He lived in Columbus Ohio and why school was begin to let out fully celebration were happening in bars all over the city Drinking, eating, Smoking, getting high, and sex with strangers and even friends. He was certain this tragic incident would not change that. He put his long coat on and slid the .45 in to the shoulder holster and the sawed off two barred stock-less shot gun into the holster he had made for it under his jacket, then slide his knife into the sheath on is hip. Out the door he went.

his custom Harley sat were it always sat. His cell phone rang. “Codwell.”
the voice of the other end spoke.

“Sheriff we have a possible breach on the campus you need to go deal with it”

“Yes, my lord I will look into it immediately.” He waited to be dismissed from the call

“See that you do” The line whet dead and he hung it up.

Again speaking to him. Self “it never fails every Holiday someone gets sloppy.” The Bike roared to life. It was as he thought the mortals had made a hollow and pointless gesture to the people dead, injured, missing, and displaced in San Diego. The mortals drank and did everything he knew they would. His world did what they do. Blood, tonight he would alter minds, and punish the one that caused the breach. The mortals night however would not change. The fallen he had knew, the ones that fell during the revolutionary war, his friends were even further from the minds of these useless cattle. Sometimes he wondered why he even bothered to do this job, so these useless blood bags could go about their ungrateful life without knowing the danger they were truly in.
