Just something I'm starting off with it's not finished I just wanted to get some opinions
The coin hits the water with barley a ripple. That's fourteen I have thrown in. No luck.
I don't know what I was expecting for, something magical to drop into my lap perhaps. Hope is better than nothing, right?

In the middle of Venice a fountains rains down crystal water, from a statue of the Virgin Mary. I am perched on the edge throwing endless amounts of copper coins into false hope. I mean what did I do to deserve this? Abandoned in Italy.

For a class trip we travelled to Italy to help out in local orphanages to give us a fresh start;whatever that means. But unlucky me on a sightseeing tour in the beautiful Venice I get lost. Stuck in the middle of nowhere down a back alley market town, sat on the cold, smooth edge of a fountain. But don't forget the strawberry gelato.

Feeling sorry for myself I cradle the gelato in one hand while flicking the coins in with the other, mindlessly yet totally in control. First time in a while I guess. I was 15 when my parents died in the car crash, it was all my fault I'd told them to get away for the weekend just so I could host a stupid party. To impress a boy who decided that my best friend was more to his taste. Excuse me, ex best friend.

I have known Laura since I was three- we were inseparable. Almost sisters. I confided too her and her alone about Mason and how I felt. According to her he felt the same until the wrecking ball came along (her designated new name). The Friday night my parents left I threw a party for my entire year, but I couldn't see Mason anywhere. Skip to one am and I find him and Laura sprawled on the sofa.
