One of my first ever poems in free verse
Standing there with a smile and his walking stick, always so happy and content
In a shortness of hours the once happiness of his face becomes shattered in disbelief
The unrecognising of familiar places, people and the loss of memories once apart of him now gone
The sadness and terror in his face brings tears to our eyes
His inability to remember has left him in a state of despair
