A twisted look at Insomnia and its effects

INSOMNIA

My pillowcase bares razor blades
My nightmares come in different shades
Hallucinations in different grades
My pillow case of razor blades
Premonitions of past despair
Mumbled words haunt the air
Racing thoughts of violent prayer
This pillowcase I can’t repair...
Razor blades, infested walls
Blood soaked sheets, I fear it all
Sheltered whispers, disrupted slumber
Short of breath, of death I wonder
Hours befall the murdered sheep
I count their corpses as i sleep.
Tormented by unanswered prayers
This pillowcase I can’t repair...
Slowly now fade I must
As the dawn turns to dusk
Countless hours beyond recall
It finally happens I hit the wall
Another day, a dollar gained
Coffin nails of mental strain
Night approaches with no remorse
Will I sleep or stay this course,
A slave unto this nightime dark
How long is this curse to last?
