The autumn wind on Halloween
Through hollow oaks
the winds of Halloween blow,
whispering ghostly melodies
that hush the autumn sparrows
and haunt
the trackless forest.

The waxing gibbous
stimulates shadowy illusions
that dance from tree to tree
on Halloween night.

Unable to deny
terror its due
human hunters huddle
in their tents,
while the shades of fall
stalk their prey.
