A poem based on tonight's events at the Lone Star Emmy's in San Antonio, TX.
A hush befell the crowd,
As the lights began to dim.
My head was humbly bowed,
As I feared our fate was grim.

They called the nominees,
One by one, with solemn pace.
I begged, "My dear Lord, please!"
For the worst, I tried to brace.

With no more names to read,
The presenter cleared his voice.
He called our names, indeed,
Yes our work, the only choice!

With haste we ran on stage,
To receive the envied prize.
Our speeches? Hard to gauge,
Still could not believe our eyes.

We returned to our seats,
The long night was finally done.
After all our defeats,
We had triumphed! We had won!
