An short open rhyme poem about winter existence.
Winter spreads her downy banquet cloth,
And what shall be the feast?
Leaves and acorns hide so cleverly
Beneath the brilliant spread.
But creatures large and small,
The deer and the mice,
Leave no crumbs,
Only fleeting wrinkles
That Winter's winds
Soon smooth away.
