An elegy for my older sister who passed away Dec. 19th, 2017 AABB 12 syllables per line.
Your smile lit up our hearts, and still does to this day.
We miss hearing your laugh, so we take time to pray.
There's a void in our soul, longing to see you Sis.
Remembering your last hours, and our final kiss.

Helping and guiding us, so we won't go astray.
To love one another in such a special way.
Your delicious apple jelly that you had made.
Never caring for yourself, leaves me quite dismayed.

At times it seems you are watching over us still.
Another guardian angel to help God's will.
Oh for that precious moment, when we shall arrive.
To give a kiss and hug, the Lord shall not deprive.

So I look at your picture with that sweet , big grin.
You keep me going until we can meet again.
Since you couldn't come to Christmas to play Bingo.
Soon as I pass, I'll look for a pink flamingo.

My sister Linda loved to prank all her sibling with flamingo's. It started with my younger brother when he was married. She put a "flock" of flamingo's in his front yard. We have all types of flamingo's now. Deeply missed,
but our faith helps assist.
