You're at home, late at night when you hear a crash outside. Outside happens to be a character from a tv show/movie/comic/any media unconcious in a crater in your yard

What you do is up to you. If you leave them alone, you have less to explain but they are in more danger. If you bring them in, you could get them some warmth but you'd have to explain more to them.

WHat happens from there is completely up to you.

The character can be anyone, a video game character, a cartoon character, an anime character, just about anyone.
