What if it was true...
Reality Check

He stood behind me,
Breathing down my neck.
“Should be done by now,
What the heck!”

I breathe in and out,
Trying to keep calm.
Doesn’t know what I am doing
He is so dumb.

Here and there I hit a button
And then the screen goes bleak.
He shouts, he yells,
What a scream, what a squeak.

“What’ve you done, what’ve you done."
He pulls at his hair.
“You crashed my systems,
How did you dare?”

I stand up pushing back my chair,
And smile like a saint.
He glares at me but I think
He was about to faint.

“You are the boss,” I say.
“Why don’t you fix it?
I am done here,” I snort.
“I simply quit.”

“You can’t leave," he pleads.
"No, that you can’t do.”
“I’ll think over,” I say.
“Get me a snack or two.”

After he leaves
I bend under the table.
Quickly I fix,
That one loose cable.

I got promoted,
And good pat on the back.
It woke me up from my sleep,
And I was back in my flat.
