A Rubáiyát about the elves at night.
The Night Visitors (a Rubáiyát)

After the moon has gone to rest
Leaving the stars alone, depressed,
Elves come out to frolic and play
They like the inky darkness best.

Fearless at night, they shun the day
With its sunny skies bright and gay.
They lie asleep in dim lit halls
Dreaming of dancing star bouquets

Legend has it that doom befalls
Those elves who stray beyond the walls
While the sun moves from East to West.
Don't heed when deadly daylight calls!
