What is the biggest disaster to a teenager? You will probably guess right. Contest entry.
It's been two whole days
without my cell phone.
My life has just entered
the eerie twilight zone.
If I can't contact
my very best friend,
my interaction with the world
will come to an end.
I missed the videos and
the music I could hear.
The photo section is filled with pictures
of my friends from school last year.
Cousin Zellie and I saw a movie star
sitting in a cafe.
A selfie with him would make me feel
like I was Queen for a Day.
Maybe I'll get a new phone
But I know I'll regret the cost.
Except anything is better than
the gossip time I've lost.
How can people live in silence?
Do they know what's going on?
When I imagine the ring tone playing
and can hope it's my boyfriend Don.
At home I see my baby sister
sitting on the floor.
She is playing with my phone
with a smile that I adore
She gives me my phone
and I know this for sure
I'll be careful in the future
and keep my phone secure.
